A Moment of Silence...
The beginning of 2008 has been off to a rocky start. With the recent death of Houston rap legend Pimp C at the end of last year still fresh in the minds of hip hoppers all over the world, North Texas was also hit hard, with not one, but two losses of its own. The first was a complete shock when local MC and promoter William P. Hunnicutt, or Freewill to the heads, passed on Saturday 12th, 2008 in his sleep.

Shallow Ellum
shallowLocal media has reported for years now on the decline of deep ellum nightlife due to crime. I’m sure images of gun toting hooligans haunted soccer mom’s all over city. The issue in my opinion has been overblown to appease the feeding frenzy of sensationalism that our elected officials thrive on. In this article I intend to illustrate my belief the beloved art district has been unjustly demonized by local media and hopefully bring light to the other side of this debate.

Justice in Jena
Gone are the days of white politicians coming together in the dark of night and putting on their white robes and hoods as a measure of doling out justice to poor black folk. Gone are the days they control the black communities with fear and oppression. Gone are the days they would dare to be so bold as to believe this great nation would stand for such racism and prejudice in our judicial system. Or maybe not...
